LockOut helps when you are locked out or dealing with locks: ordered options to try before paying a locksmith (spare-key holders, building manager, after-hours line, roadside assistance, smart-lock app), typical US locksmith cost ranges with a check of any quote you were given, a scam check that scores a locksmith encounter, rekey-vs-replace triage with a cost comparison, a spare-key plan so it does not happen again, and a draft call script to read to a locksmith yourself. Planning only - it never dispatches, calls or vets locksmiths and does not verify licenses. If anyone is in danger or a break-in is in progress, call 911.

- estimate_locksmith_cost: Estimate locksmith cost — Estimate a typical US locksmith total for a service: residential, car, commercial or safe unlock, rekey per cylinder, lock replacement by ANSI grade, smart lock install, key duplication or car key replacement, with trip fee, after-hours and holiday surcharges and city cost tier; checks a quote you were given. - locksmith_scam_check: Locksmith scam check — Score a described locksmith encounter for scam risk from what you observed: legal name given, written quote, marked vehicle, ID and license shown, drilling first, cash only, price rising on arrival, generic business name, phone vs arrival quote. Returns red and green flags, a question checklist and what to do now. Do NOT use to price a job; use estimate_locksmith_cost.
- rekey_or_replace: Rekey or replace — Recommend rekey, replace or upgrade for your locks from the reason (lost or stolen keys, moved in, break-in, worn lock, roommate or tenant left, upgrade), lock count, condition, current ANSI grade, smart-lock interest and renter status, with a cost comparison of all four options, urgency and a security grade note. Do NOT use to check a quote; use estimate_locksmith_cost.
- spare_key_plan: Spare key plan — Build a spare-key plan so you are never locked out again: how many copies and who holds them, trusted key holder versus lockbox versus smart lock with typical costs, general lockbox guidance, who to trust and a reminder schedule, sized to household, trusted people, lockouts last year, travel and budget. Do NOT use for lock hardware decisions; use rekey_or_replace.
- draft_locksmith_call_script: Draft locksmith call script — Draft (never sent) what to say when calling a locksmith: situation, lock type, time of day, proof of residence you will have ready, and the questions to ask on total price, ETA, ID, marked vehicle, drilling and payment.
